Images, Illustration and Comics

Most of the illustration work done so far by Vulpinoid Studio has been for internal projects. There have been a number of external projects, but mostly these have been limited to concept sketches which werenever taken up by the client, corporate work which now resides in the copyright of the client, or private commisions done for friends or personal reasons.

There are a couple of current projects which we hope to have in publication shortly, but between the resinworks, the game development, the maintenance of this website, and other work that actually pays hard currency...sooner will probably turn into later.

This page provides a variety of the illustration projects currently in progress, and a few if my finished works. Hopefully in time, a number of subsidiary pages will develop with archives of published work and prints which will be made available through the online store.

Character Portraits

Character portraits are always fun to do for people, because you can ask 100 clarifying questions about the character and even if everyone agree on detailed answers, everyone will still have a different idea about how the character is meant to look. In most cases when developing a character portrait, a few sketches are offered to clarify the concept, then one of these is identified and fine tuned into the final image. The first few sketches take an hour or so each, while the final image can take anything up to a day or two to complete.

The Celts

This series was painted with inks for a shop specialising inselling celtic arts and crafts. There were meant to have been 12 images in all for the purposes of a calendar; but with the collapse of the shop's business, further images for this series were indefinitely put on hold.
